SEO - Site Renew and Resubmit

I have a test site on the web http://www.pool-table-sale.com - It was accidently submitted to search engines google, yahoo etc.

My problem- This site was temporarily set up to test our upgraded PHP scripts. I have absolutely NO SEO work done on the site because the site will be 150% different than it appears now. Will this be a problem for search engines when i point the domain to the new site? Do I have to email the search engines telling them to take the site off and then resubmit it?

Any help on this will be appreciated as i am expected to rank with the top 4 pool related site like our other site for massage: http://www.massageking.com (KW- massage tables, massage accessories, massage supplies)

    Thanks for your replies- Derek@llfitness.com

If you did not want http://www.pool-table-sale.com found by search engines, why are there so many links to it? (thats how SE's find and list sites)

Submitting will not matter. Emailing SE's will make no diffeence.

Im the new SEO for LLFitness- The last guy here did a sloppy job w/ our pool table site so i remade the site User/SearchEngine Friendly but im scared what will happen if i put the new site in place of the old one. Google and other SE might not like that.

Google and other SE might not like that.
You don't have a lot of choice - you have links to the site and a PR4, so Googlebot et al will pick up the change, probably within days of them being made.

Submitting to SE's or emailing them is a total waste.

Put up a 404 error page as well to catch anyone who tries to visit one of the old pages.

    One step closer

In my opinion you have an advantage for your site in Google, now that your site is already listed.

As posted above I would create a 404 error page to catch all of the old links.

For the time being, I would also create some text on the home page, stating the site is under redevelopement, and for any product related questions please fill out this form or give us a call at...

And when testing your scripts just type in the direct url to the scripts instead of having them as links from the home page.

Thanks for all the advice- One more question

One recomendation i recieved was telling me to set up an .htaccess file on our apache server to redirect the domain www.pool-table-sale.com to a New domain just say... www.pool-tables-for-sale.com which points to our New website.

    Any opinions on this?

    if it was me

If it was me, I would keep with the same domain name.

Now, I know many people might say what you are suggesting might not make a differnce, but I say don't fix what isn't broken.

Thanks for the great advice and please check google in the first quarter of 2005 for Pool Tables, Pool Cues, Pool Balls, or Pool Table Supplies and your helpful responses should be evident in their values.

    Sincerely,

hehe - only worry a little

Well you don't have to worry about google - their results lately are not worth 2cents, yahoo yes only because they have been out preforming google 2 to 1.
