    Portfolio emails

I have a clothing line. I would like to send emails of my current collection to a select group of prospective buyers and existing customers. How can I set up a professional looking mailer, as opposed to simply adding my images as attachments to an email?

    Thanks, Lauren

you need to either get a server and some mailing list mangement software, or use one of the many online service that can manage the list for you, providing templates and WYSIWYG editors etc etc. These normally have some form of free trial so you can see if it suits your needs before spending, e.g. intellicontact (af)

    Adding Images in your emails

    This is easy to do:

What I would recommend is building your message as a web-page (think of it this way 'cause it helps). Insert your graphics as normal.

Then look through the HTML code and you'll see the image tags. They look like:

    <img src="/../someimage.jpb"

Change it to have your full URL name like this:

    <img src="http://www.yousite.com/someimage.jpg"

then you can insert the HTML page into your email program/service and send it out!

A word of warning: Spam filters weigh a lot heavier on HTML messages with graphics than they do just plain text messages. I tell all my clients to use regular text and link back to their site. Works better for them.
