[AW] bizarre changes in my reports

    Hi everyone,

I have been experiencing some puzzling results with my adwords campaigns from the beginning of October.

I have 4 internet platforms, all related to specialty chemicals. Same thing happened on all platforms, with various intensity.

I haven't made any changes to my accounts whatsoever.

I could not find on google's terms of use anything about not disclosing charts/graphs, etc.

Here are the graphs for one of the accounts, from july till now on a daily basis:

number of times my ads appear:
average of 20 000/day, maximum peak of 40 000 once in the last 3 months.
Peak at 80 000 during the first week of October (what happened here??? can't find out!), plummeted at 5 000 since then...

    average position of my ads:
average of 3.7, currently 3.5. No big change, a slight decrease...

    number of clicks:
average of 400/day in the last 3 months (from 280 to 520). Dropped to 120/day this last week.

    Click thru rate:
Direct consequence of the 3 other graphs, my CTR has increased, from an average of 2 to an average of 2.5+ this last week.

If anyone has any idea how/why this could occur, I am all ears, because I'm completely lost.

This is not related, but I ran AgentWebRanking last week and the ranking of my sites has not changed for my keywords.

    Hi effisk,

No reasonable idea of why this is happening here.... I've checked my stas and theya re fine for the last few weeks. The only thing I can think off is a removal of some content sites that were bringing up your site a lot.

    Hi Julian,
what do you mean by that:

I am talking about AdWords, so my ads should show up whatever happens on the web, shouldn't they?

As far as I know, a decrease in the number of viewings can only occur:

    1) when people don't type the keywords I have specified, which is very unikely. There is no reason why they'd stop typing these keywords at a sudden.

    2) when my keywords are disabled. It's not the case.

    3) when...?

I've been going through my stats for the last 2 hours with no convincing reason why this change happened.... :$

WHat I mean is Adwords display on both Search sites and COntent sites (run your reports for both seperately)

Assuming the amount of searches is the about the same (it should be over time) then it "could" be less displays on content pages. Because you are very industry specific Assume google thought your site matched up on 10 content sites, perhaps they have stop providing links on severral of those sites since Oct 1st. That would mean less page displays per day.

Check to see if either you search results or content results have stayed the same.

I will. I'll do that tomorrow and I'll keep you posted. It still looks a big decrease for just a couple of content sites down. Thanks for your help.
