hi,

why didn't you just make a web page that you can highlight and copy text off?

I have to agree with dancedevils... there is no need for flash on this intro... a simple graphic with some text would have sufficed.

But there's nothing wrong with doing it this way either - Flash is a tool as much as any other web suthoring stuff. But that's not what or why he asked.
He asked the question because he's been having problems with visible borders around his images in Flash:

So, to answer your question veenashekar, no I can't see any borders. But I couldn't before either.

True... flash is a wonderful tool... I love flash... don't get me wrong... but there are just some things that just are wrong to do in flash. Simple graphics that aren't animated is one. It is the misuse that has plagued many flash developers with a bad rap. If he wanted to use 1 pixel by 1 pixel graphics and use 1500 of them to create a single image that would be valid too... but wouldn't it be overkill?

I think the answer is... it depends, and it's a personal thing :)
I have no qualms about using Flash without animation, and with all the server-side technologies now available more and more people are building sites using it.
I mean, Flash has a whole bagful of commands that have nothing at all to do with animation (which I know you know, I'm just saying ;))
I think a site done in Flash has a whole look that can't be achieved using conventional means. That doesn't mean you must use it, of course, but it does add something that can't be achieved otherwise.
But help veenashekar on this - his problem was seeing a border on images on certain machines. Can you see it?
:)
Sualdam
thanks guys.
And Sualdam stop referring me as a he.
Ok. I deisgned the page in flash because-
I love flash
Are u supposed to use flash only when there is animation? And frankly I am unable to create a similar menu bar in dreamweaver. But will give it a try.
Many a times I have found that the effect is not as beautiful when i do it in an html editor
anyway I did solve my problem by changing the colours to a certain extent. Please view the same pages again, I thinks the Bg of images do not stand out.(hopefully)
Now I have to have you guys tell me something
Do search engines not give priority to sites designed in flash
so do you think I could design my splash page(index.html) in a html editor and keep the rest in flash? then what use the metatags?
Ooops. Sorry veenashekar :)
Sualdam
Sualdam,
I agree with you, it's a personal thing. To flash or not to flash is up to the developer/designer.
Veenashekar,
No you don't have to use flash only for animation (although I'm personally biased about it and use it only for application purposes and animation)... but as Sualdam pointed out it is completely up to the individual. Having said that, my opinion, is that you can achieve the same with css and the images and nothing more. But whatever is easier for you, go for it.
And no, I couldn't see any borders ;-)

hey thanks Mysticlight,
You know what? i did take your advise and did the same in html(dreamweaver) I was worried about two things
that most SE's may not list the site done in flash
And that it looked different in different monitors.
So my problem is solved to an extent. I will post my site soon for review and I need you to take a look at it.
But thanks so much
