Page Rank Problem

Hi guys
I am new in SEO field, though i research alot and making myself more professional. I have a problem with my site ranking www.pulseuniform.com . I already submitted my link in major search engines and directories. In most of directory my positon in top 3. But when it comes to google it shows me 0 page rank. i know there are lots of issues about number of registration in different directories and stuff. Thats why i need help of u guys to guide me what i will do for my ranking and from where will i get the name of good directories. i already search alot for quality web directories and submit my site there.

I also like to know how to chk my postion in google for an specific search pharse(medical uniform).

First submitting your site to Google and Yahoo has, at best, dubious benefits. If your site has a few good inbound links, Yahoo and Google will find the site. Submit away to the minor search engines, if you want to be listed there, but even really big sites only get a very small percentage of search engine traffic from the engines you have to submit to.

PageRank as seen in the google toolbar and backlinks shown by a backward links check is updated sporadically. So what you see is not really what the current status is.

Most people will tell you the single most important thing you can do to improve your positioning in Google is get quality inbound links. This is also the only thing that will improve your PR. So spend some time trying to get more inbound links with your keywords in the anchor text.

To check your positioning for a specific phrase on google, you can use this tool. It (along with the other tools they offer) are spectacular. I've been checking my phrases there a couple of times a day lately. I used the tool I mentioned to check your positioning for "medical uniform". It indicates that you are not in the top 1000. Don't get discouraged, though new sites have been having a hard time positioning well with google lately.

Just keep learning and working on those inbound links. You'll be fine.

Thanks for all your suggestions, really appreciated. So what i got is if I have inbound links from top directories then I will be ok. Dont need to have 1000s worthless search engines and directories.
The thing which confuses me is "keywords in the anchor text". Usualy , directories want my home page URL for submission. although i prodive them all of my detail i.e title, description and keyword. I have some pages , which are based on my keywords. Do I have to submit those URL. can u be more specific in this area.

Glad I could help. Anchor text is the visible part of a text hyper link. For example, if I link to your site like this: Medical Uniforms, "Medical Uniforms" is the "anchor text". Linking to your site with your keywords in the anchor text will help to improve your site's position in the SERPs for those keywords.

You're right, most reputable directories will want to use your site title as the anchor text, not your keywords. Directories like DMOZ will use "PulseUniforms" for your title (anchor text). Which isn't all bad in your case because you still have your keyword "uniforms" in the title.

One of the most common methods for increasing inbound links are link exchanges. Having your partners link to your site like I did in the example above is your best bet if you want to target the "Medical Uniforms" keyphrase.

I would not worry too much about submitting your site to minor search engines unless there are search engines used specifically by people in your industry. Directories, on the other hand are often worth submitting to. The difference is, your link in a directory can be indexed by google; that's one more quality inbound link. Pure search engines won't have a link to your site that can be spidered by google, a human user would have to search for your keywords and find your site.

Yes flood6 you did answer my question , good thing is, most of time i am using my anchor text
Medical Scrubs, Medical Uniforms and Nursing Uniforms at PulseUniform like this, which cover my most important keywords. Now I have another question , although this is not relevent, but again for me this is an important issue.
most of the top directories have some cost for listing,so is that worth to do investment in this area like top 10 directories.
Another question is does pay per click increase my ranking?

The problem with this approach is you are attempting to use too many key phrases in the anchor text of a single link. This dilutes the effectiveness of the anchor text for all of these keywords.

You'll do much better if you use variations of your anchor text with each individual link targeting a single phrase (ie. Medical Scrubs).

Even better, create completely separate pages that offer just one type of item each, and then get "deep links" directly to each page using the search term for that particular page in the anchor text.

Finally, I would recommend that you omit at PulseUniform from your anchor text altogther. A brand name does nothing for enticing a user to click on a link (unless the brand is huge like Coke, Chevrolet, etc.), and it actually hurts your search engine rankings for the target search term by diluting the anchor text.

Another question is does pay per click increase my ranking?

Some PPC engines do and some don't. It all depends on how they structure the link to your site.

I know the above suggestion is the best b'caz from that i not only put my keyword as anchor text but also direct my customer to a most related page but when u register in a diretory(most of them) u cant have control for your acnhor text, all u can do is, provid information abt your website and business. So some directory use your business name and some use your title as an anchor text and when ever i use my title the directory always search me in their top results.
Now I have one question abt registering in directories can i use my direct page link like
Medical Uniforms, which direct my user to my medical uniform page.If Yes then what abt my other important pages b'caz of the fact you can only submit one link????
Please guide me if iam doing or understanding something wrong, really apreciated

Most top Directories will use the official page title (or a variation of it) and URL of the homepage. They also write up their own (often terrible) description for your listing. Rarely do they allow submissions of individual inside pages.

This is why I concentrate the bulk of my link building efforts on getting links from individual websites instead of Directories.
