    See PR with out Toolbar

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to see PR for a website with out having the Google Toolbar installed.

I ask this because I recently switched over to using the FireFox browser because of security problems with Internet Explorer.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Just for reference, that extension is the handiwork of Nick Stallman. He has other little goodies at his site http://nickstallman.net/.

He did a brute force crack on the checksum that Google uses to get the PR value. Up until a few weeks ago, that crack was a pretty well guarded secret until some hacks released it into the Public Domain -- now every dog and their mother has some form of PR tool on their site. Heck I even played around with it. =)

But you cannot beat the ease of having it on your browser toolbar -- any browser now. That hack of Nicks will run on Netscape also. Not sure if there is one for Opera yet, but most Mac users can use it.

This tool allows you to enter a number of URLs & then will display the PR for them -> http://www.top25web.com/pagerank.php

Oddly enough, that is where Nick Stallman hangs out (in the forums there). Imagine that! =)

Once you have a toolbar that displays the information for you, you no longer will need tools of that type IMO. I mean, why go thru the hassle of hand entering a bunch of URLs into a form when you can just surf and look much more quicker.

I just have a text file with the URLs I check regularly & I just cut-n-paste it in. Makes it easy to check them all at once.

Hey? Didn't we have this conversation over at the Beige Tower a couple months back? How have you been doing?

I have been out of the USA for a while, back in the old country (UK), so I am still getting back up to speed with what is going on. One thing I can say for sure is that there are lots of changes going on at Beigetower.
