    I'm #1! Now What?

    Hi,

I'm now #1 in the top 5 search engines when searching for "trumpet solos" OR "jazz trumpet solos".

    site: http://www.JazzTrumpetSolos.com

What do I do with it? I mean, I'm PR4 with 300 visits a day. My newsletter is sent monthly to about 1200 jazz trumpet players.

So, the question remains, shouldn't I be able to market this somehow?

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    jk

You're got adwords, so your probably making something off of that. You could also try joining some affiliate programs, for maybe instruments, or CD's, or something related. You could also sell advertising space.

Why would you want to make something out of it, though? I think you should just be thankful that you're so well recognized.
But if you do want to make some money, surely the key lies in realizing what your visitors would be prepared to buy. Instruments? Posters? Tickets to Jazz Concerts? What?
Given the database your newsletter gives you and recognizing that you're pulling lots of visitors in, couldn't you come up with some products/services you could offer for sale to everyone? You need to be careful and sensitive about losing the appeal of a free source of information, but I imagine there's some way to capitalize on your access to a highly qualified audience -- and this as opposed to being paid for your SEO/SERP success.

First of all, very nice site!

If you're interested in monetizing the traffic you're on the right track with AdSense. You can maximize your revenue by pursuing several concurrent tactics:

1 - Increase your traffic. 300 uniques a day is admirable for a niche site but you really need a lot more to earn any real affiliate income. I would shoot for at least 1000.

How to boost traffic? Create lots of useful content pages that target variations of your keywords/phrases. Publish content that is related to what you have already but slightly different (articles on various musical genres, bands, instruments, etc).

Become the authority on music that everyone wants to link to.

2 - Sell ads to the sites that rank below yours.

3 - Sell ads to the sites that serve your audience (music stores, venues, etc).

4 - Embed some high quality affiliate links into your content in relevent places. Text links work best.

5 - Sell music related products yourself from your site: instruments, speakers, books, etc.

And always remember: It's great being #1 for two or three keywords/phrases, but it's even better being in the top 10 for hundreds of them.
