Hoping someone out there can help:
Here's my situation. Using Frontpage 2003 with Win XP I am unable to publish updates to any of the several websites I manage. They are located on at least 4 different servers with 4 different hosts. This problem started in mid-July. All sites have been confirmed as having FP 2002 extensions installed and all FP features already functioning on the sites work fine.
The issue must be a problem on my side as I am also not able to publish using FP 2002 running on my other PC running Win 98. My ISP is Verizon DSL. I am able to publish using FTP, but that defeats the purpose when using features that are FP dependent. I have screwed up the extensions on some sites since I've only been able to update using FTP.
Microsoft tech support, the servers' hosts, plus some other techie friends have offered their suggestions but we still can't come up with a resolution.
I use Win XP's firewall. Tried disabling it. Turned off virus protection. Did a system restore to an earlier date when things were working. Uninstalled and reinstalled FP. Even called my ISP to see if they could give me proxy settings that I could enter manually, they could not offer me any help there.
The key issues/clues are that I am unable to FP publish from any of the PC's in my home, upgraded to FP 2003 in January '04 where everything has worked smoothly until recently. Others testing my site can (at least by the 2nd try as in the case with Microsoft tech support). I am utilizing different unrelated servers. So its definitely on my side.
Anyone have any other things I could try to resolve this?
A few of the websites, each on a different server: www.mdtr.org, www.apyfl.org, www.holyfamilycatholicschool.net
Thanks to all----
