Petabyte PB storage (1,000,000,000,000,000 bytes)
Ever look at you space left and thought you need more room. Well the technology is their and companies like Google that plan to offer g-mail (1 gigabyte e-mail) will be powering these features with PB storage.

Evolution
1956 – 4MB (tubes)
1966 - 30MB (1.6 meters high)
1970 – 29 MB (smaller)
1980 – 8 MB (small size HD)


IBM, Sun Microsystems, Hewlett-Packard, EMC are some companies that currently manufacture PB drives

I have not seen any prices for a PB storage but you can imagine it is up their currently a 2000GB(2TB) drive goes for close to $10,000 USD

Who knows how long it will be before the corporate world takes on EXObites.

One thing is for sure with endless storage capability on the horizon we may see a drastic shift in how we interact with the world.
