SOCEngine Directory - Require Links or Not

www.socengine.com is a full-fledged directory that has been growing slowly for the past week.

I wanted to jump start it, and noticed that many people were critical of the reciprocal link requirement. That requirement no longer exists and I'd like to ask people whether they feel it is better or worse wihtout it.

With the reciprocal link, PR obviously has a better chance of going up and maybe providing more value to sites in the directory. But, this way, anyone can add any site with much less effort.

Let me know, and please provide feedback on how you like the design, usability, etc.

    Thanks

SOCEngine Directory - Require Links or Not

    Randfish,

The first thing I looked for was a category for my site.

I submitted and requested a new category.

Because of the nature of my program, I do not offer outside links from my site. The temptation for kids is too great, and I know how hard it is for parents or teachers to get a student to focus.

It has occurred to me, that I could have a teacher resource page with urls listed which could be copied and pasted into the browser address bar making it a little harder and less tempting for kids to be browsing when they should be focusing on this program.

Take a look at our site and please post your review.
    Thanks,
