PR is all down to quality inbound links (say PR4+), so yeah, if you offer a link back on your site, you can get a good PR.Originally Posted by martinelder

but back links with revelant keywords help you in the overall search.
a link placed to your site near the top of the page has higher importance then one placed at the bottom of the page.
i have realised this by expereince.
looks like everyone agrees on this although I do think it is time consuming. Can I get a higher Google pageranking with no budget?
and time is money.
Yes - you can definetly gain PR for free.... But it's not easy - it takes hard work... Not only should you build a huge site giving you many inbound links to your home page via internal pages - but you've got to get others sites to link to you based on your content....
Create a valuable site - and it will become valuable on it's own..... work work work to get links to your site.... PR is very important to your future on the web.... If you build it, They will come!
Thank you all for your help, I do put a lot of time into research and attempts at link, currently arounf 15 hours a week, but I am complete newbie at this.
So if anyone wants reciprocal links just email me.
thx again
taking a lot of time, but one day...
Well I must say that it is hard work doing link building, however, just because a job is hard doesnt meant it has to take long. There are many ways to build links and have the links building more links and those links building more links etc. You experienced marketers must have already caught on that I am talking about viral marketing. It works wonders and should definitely be considered when looking for effective avenues to use to promote your website.
