    HTML, XHTML or XML

    Hi All

I just purchased a book about xml and one of the first things that it says is that xml is not supported in all browsers yet and that XHTML is the code to use during the transition period. The copyright date 2001. Is this statement about xml still accurate?

I have designed a site with HTML and CSS and want to start a second site. I have read online that xml is the way to go.

I am just looking for some direction with my learning process. Can anybody help point me in the right direction?

    Thanks,
    Troy

If by 'supported' you mean it will look OK, there is no browser that supports XML. IMO the way to go is XHTML.

    Thanks HardCoded

There is so much information to sort through. It makes it very difficult to know where to invest your time.

    Thanks for answering my question.

    Best Regards,
    Troy

    http://www.w3.org/XML/1999/XML-in-10-points

    I found this neat overview:
XML, XLink, Namespace, DTD, Schema, CSS, XHTML ... If you are new to XML, it may be hard to know where to begin. This summary in 10 points attempts to capture enough of the basic concepts to enable a beginner to see the forest through the trees. And if you are giving a presentation on XML, why not start with these 10 points?...
Babies don't need a vacation, but I still see them at the beach... it pisses me off! I'll go over to a little baby and say 'What are you doing here? You haven't worked a day in your life!'
