Wow if I see that long list I am so happy that I use no Windows but Ubuntu Linux an have nothing to do with virus, spyware and all that stuff.

Best of all Ubuntu is free operating system and gets you all the software you need.

Hmmm, so you run Linux without antivirus and antispyware software? Nice... what's your IP address? Viruses for Linux do exist, they are simply less common, because the operating system is less commonly deployed.

Exclamation List needs to be updated (1/10/08)

Thank you for posting this huge list. I was in search of a good, free firewall for my WinXP Pro laptop and hit on this from my search criteria.

However, just in the list of firewall software I found some dead links and redirects.

These do not have access to any firewall software (either dead or goes to main page of company):
    • Intrusion Catcher Firewall (dead)
    • Kerio Personal Firewall (all links - either custom "Page Not Found" or no mention of firewall)
    • Tiny Personal Firewall (dead)
    • WyvernWorks Firewall 2003 (goes to "site under construction" for a web hosting service)
ZoneAlarm is still active, just that the zonelabs.com redirects to zonealarm.com.

Also, I'm not sure if it matters or not, but I was under the impression that this was a list of free software? All the other active links for firewall software were all shareware (free to try for a set time or with limited access). Perhaps it's just me, but when I think of free I think of completely free - not trials or limited-access.

I haven't checked any of the other links in the list because I was only looking for a firewall, but if others can (or have the time to) check the other links to update the list, it would be a pretty good idea.
