Chat Component for website

Hi,

I'm currently redesigning my site ConnectingSingles.com and I would like to add instant messaging feature. Does anyone know where I can get a component (Flash or JAVA)? I used to program in JAVA a long time ago, and still remember some of it, so if I could find source code, then I could tightly integrate it myself. I've heard that Flash is better though (do you agree with this?) The disadvantage to me with Flash, is that I don't know it.

I'm looking for the cheapest, easiest, fastest solution. I would appreciate any advice.

Damn, I just came across one two weeks ago, it was free and quite fast, actually.
I think it was hotscripts, but I will retrace my steps.
There are more and more script indexes that have java applets and source code (.java, etc) these days.

Also, java can eventually be incorporated into flash (check out the 'Central SDK' on Macromedia), and I want to learn that but flash is daunting right now.
I don't know about the other way, it doesn't seem like it would be a problem, but I am just going to learn the java first, as I have made inroads there.

Do you have - jChatBox NEEDS JSP1.0/Servlets2.1 engine to run.
jChatBox need JVM 1.2 or higher to run?
