    Web Awards

    Hello!

I'm Not Sure If This Is The Correct Topic, But I Figured This Somewhat Pertains To The Site's Design. How Do You Guys Feel About Web Awards Such As:

    Golden Web Awards
    Diamond Web Awards

I've Won The 'Golden' And Have The 'Diamond' As Well, But Do They Really Mean What They Say? Lately I've Noticed Other "Not-Too-Good" Websites With The 'Golden' Showing On Their Site. Did The Webmasters Steal The Image Or Are The 'Golden Web Awards' Just A Scam To Popularize Themselves? Do These Awards Mean Nothing When It Comes To A Good Website? Should I Show These Awards On The HomePage Proudly?

    Sincerely,
    Mike

Those Awards Really Mean Nothing, And Proper Capitalization Also Loses All Meaning When You Capitalize Every Word For No Apparent Reason.

Thanks For Your Opinion! I Capitalize Every Word Because It Is A Unique Theme For Our Website. This Prevents Others From Copying Our Content Almost 99% Of The Time.

Mikey the awards arent worth the paper they are printed on. Their not printed on paper? Well, thats what they are worth. They are good for the person/s issuing the award. Your pushing people to 'their' site.

Also, you are never going to stop people copying content from your site. So while you say it is your style for your site, it really isnt serving any function.

    Thank You

Thanks For Your Opinion! What Web Awards Do You Suggest?

Another Thing, I Have Received Comments Pertaining To My Capitalization, In Fact Agreeing That It Prevents Copying. I'm Not Saying No One Will Every Copy, But It Puts Up An Obstacle For Those Who Wish To.

    Sincerely,
    Mike

I dont sugeest any, because there have been none that I have seen that appear credible as 'awards' for best sites. I am sure there are industry awards as in any other field, but you would have to be really talented to compete in those fields.

How do you figure that capitilization prevents or even hinders copying?

    Thanks!

If Someone Copies Our Content, They'd Then Have To Change The Capitalization Or Else It Would Look Weird On Their Site. It's All Sort Of A Psychological Thing Since Most People Tend To Not Bother.

Sorry to disappoint you, but, there are 100's of editors out there that would convert it in a blink. If someone is going to go to the trouble to copy something, converting it to lower case in an editor isn't going to be much additional effort.

For appearance sake you would be better to stay in normal format. Though some may say it looks good, many more would say its distracting to the content of the sentences.

There are lots of them. For example the one I use for hand coding Ultraedit. Most text editors have that function though.
