Does using "antivirus" Wordpress plugin causes problem in site loading or site's performance?

May are may not: If you are on a dedicated hosting and running your own server it may not disturb you. And if you are on a shared server it will definitely make bundle of disturbance.

I personally doubt that it is necessary to use anti-virus software, there are other ways of protection WordPress. Usually you can lock any possible attack through .htaccess file.
