    Where to place articles

So I heard that post penguin that we shouldn't create articles & put them on article directories otherwise it will cost us. Is this true?

I don't believe. Because I'm posting the Article to the High PR Directories & getting the backlinks + traffics in regular basis.

I was referring to the SERPs in Google, not whether you get traffic from the article in the article directory.

Submitting the same article into many article directories may caught you up in the search engine penalty as per the Google PENGUIN update. So don't submit the same article more than once otherwise it'll lead you to get affected by search engine penalty.

Even if nothing bad happens to your web rankings, why are you going to put your articles on other directories? Although some links might be gained but they will not sound that strong to lift your web ranks online, especially in competitive niches.

And what if your article gets syndicated on hundreds of other websites. Will you get penalised too?

You won't because the Google never consider the websites that syndicating the feed as the source of information. The website that provides the content through feed will always be the source of information even that particular feed is subscribed by the multiple websites. But this will be different case in submitting same articles in multiple article directories.

perhaps I used the wrong term when I said syndication, what I meant was if you publish the article on a website where people may copy and republish it on their site, as long as they include the author box. This will be seen as duplicate content, so will Google penalise the site these duplicate articles links to?

I was told a while ago this isn't a problem, but NOW there's a HUGE problem.

I just went to 2 article directories I used to use a few years back & not only did they delete both of my accounts, it looks like things have changed BIG time with them.

    1. won't let me use one of my kws & they only allow upto 10 articles unless they deem you fit to move to their next level.
    2. the 2nd one wants money.

    This is terrible.

Can someone recommend a free article directory that has a high PR.

    Thanks

    Michelle
