    My PR is now PR3

After 6mos of working our website's SEO, it's now PR3. I think somebody mentioned in a forum thread that PR usually updates in 6months time. So I bet this is it. But of course if still depends if your website really is improving or not.

    I'm open for corrections.

    Google PR Update

Hi Tina, Google has not set rules or specific time span to update page rank to a website. Specific time frame is hypothetical and it's a myth. Page Rank effectively depends on the volume and quality of backlinks. For your PR3 ... kudos to your solid backlinks from authentic sites. Believe me, unnatural backlinks, those cultivated from link farms and likewise, can bring down your page rank drastically.

Create a good website, keep on improving and garner good backlinks... that's the secret for Page Rank shooting high!

Nope; quality is not a factor in the PR algorithm.

See PageRank for the mathematical definition of, and various computational methods employed in claculating PR.

    False.

The worst that can happen is that such are ignored for PR purposes. Again, look to the mathematical function that describes PR.

Sites do not have PageRank; only individual pages do. If by that you mean to say that one or more pages of your site has a Toolbar PR of 1 with no external in-bound links, that is mathematically impossible.

None of which has any effect on PageRank.
