Software that looks for problems with Wordpress

Hi,

So I just hired a guy to fix a blog that has been causing problems for a while now & it turned out to be 2 plugins conflicting with one another.

He said he ran a custom piece of software that looks for these types of things.

Does anyone know of any software that does this?

Nope. Never heard of such a thing. We just turn them all off and then turn them on one at a time and that shows any issues pretty quickly. Takes just a few minutes.

He could have meant by "custom piece of software" some web developer plugins for firefox and so forth. Having access to your site, he could have checked through this plugin (software) all the calls to files and external sites etc. that your website makes when pages load. He may have found the issue through turning them off and on but he may have used the software to determine what the problem with the plugin really is or is doing and then in the end say he used the software to find the problem. He also may not have wanted to turn off all your plugins (did he ask if he could?) because doing so could have the potential to wreck things further.

If your question is about determining if he tricked you I wouldn't say he did just yet.
