In that case, the only other easy test is to try other browsers and see if it happens under them.

Try your browsers now. You were the only victim of our Visitor Viewing plugin and caching system we have running. How you ended up there, who knows...

rah: I am assuming that cached pages were not sending across the proper mime type?

You would be correct. It still doesn't explain why they were being served directly to him though. We looked at everyone and he was the only one this was happening to. My only guess is that when I was making his account an admin, at the very same time, the caching system caught him in a stateless limbo.

It was happening through the weekend, including yesterday. Nothing today, yet, but I haven't been browsing very much. There are at least 5 more instances in my download folder. I've been clicking 'cancel' so they might not be complete files.

We just updated it not to long ago, so hopefully you won't see it happening any longer.

Thanks, Rah. Will alert you the second it happens again, if it does. I'll let the download complete so you can be sent the full file. Hopefully, you have fixed the problem and this will all be behind us.

What I don't understand is why only I got these, and nobody else. Am I the only one using Chrome? Did it have something to do with mod privileges (this was happening before becoming admin).

My only guess is that when I was making your account an admin, at the very same time, the caching system caught you in a stateless limbo and freaked out. It's a very scientific observation as you can tell.
