Question Page going into download folder instead of into browser

Is this happening to anybody else? On many occasions I've clicked a page link, or a moderator action and instead of the page loading, it is sent to my downloads folder. A second attempt usually returns the page. This has been going on for probably two months, now.

I wonder if it is a Chrome thing? No explaining the connection, though.

This is the first I've heard of it. On OSX and Win 7 I've not had that happen in any of the major browsers.

Chrome in Win 7. I could switch browsers for a while, much as I dislike FF nowadays. Would you like me zip what I've got so far and send it to you, Rah? A lot have been deleted, but some still remain in my DL folder.

Sure, that's fine. I'll go over it and look for anything in common.

Have you tried disabling all extensions to see if the problem persists?

I don't use extensions, just Chrome out of the box. There is no way to reproduce the problem that one can 'set up' and it occurs (or has occurred) in lots of different situations, as recently as yesterday (Wed.).
