Overall your site is good. Images, content navigation all are good. But I don't like your background. A lighter background will increase the better visual experience, I think.

A few things come to mind:

-The ads are too overbearing and appear in some of the most inopportune places. For instance, the ad you have to the right of your logo on top of each page is bigger than the logo itself. Make your logo bigger so it takes up most, not all, of the banner bar. Then either slide a smaller ad to the right, or put the ad above or below the logo.
-On most of your other pages ads are what you see right under the page's title instead of the page's content. Move these ads elsewhere, like to the right or under the content.
-The homepage sends a mixed message. It appears to be a blog at first but after that page navigational bar for the different pages you have additional subsections. I would instead suggest you either limit the number of news items you have on the front page to one (or you could put several items into an image rotator) or that you actually put your website into blog form.
-You have plenty of big, high-resolution images on your website but the problem with that is that those images dwarf the text. Normally I'd suggest you reduce the image sizes but for a site like yours where imagery and media is important I suggest you increase the text size instead.
-The "Venues" section really doesn't talk about venues, but rather you give lots of advice and best practices of the clubbing scene. Just consider renaming that section and/or using the Venues section to talk about the different clubbing venues.
-Use the hot pink you have in various areas on the site on the navigational menu. For instance, you could highlight a moused over option in pink or change the text over to pink. Also, you could use that pink on some of the stuff on the right side of each page.
-The poll on your home page talks about the top ten dance clubs but you can't actually select ten of them. Also, there are only 12 choices total. Instead, retitle the poll to something like "Which of these dance clubs is best?" or "Best dance club" since you can only select one.
-Not a big deal but I wouldn't put the Facebook likes at the bottom of the page. Instead, think about putting that black box above it on the bottom (it would make for an attractive footer).

In most cases your website would be too image heavy but I think for the types of people you're trying to reach you'll be OK. There's tons of stuff on your website and there's plenty to do, so your visitors--whether they're familiar with the area's club scene or not--will definitely find it informative and useful. An overall good job.
