Sometimes the noise swells that I get scared the PC will crash, something that never happens.
Even when I don't work at it, it makes noise.
What can I do about it please?

It's usually a cooling fan. To figure out which one it is, open the case, then put your finger in the center of each fan one at a time and make it stop spinning for a second. If the noise stops that;s the fan you need to replace.
Dad always said, if you are good at something, make sure they pay you for it.

If you've had the machine for a while you might be able to clean out the cooling fan and ducting as they get clogged up and the airflow drops off. Google the specifics for your model. I've done it on many machines and laptops. You can really improve airflow with a small amount of effort. If you are taking the lid off, just make sure you follow grounding instructions. If not sure, don't! Find a friend who is OK with electrics and do it together.

Is it a computer or laptop? If its a computer sometimes if its stored in a confined space it'll get very hot. Especially in the summer. And the computer also ends up picking up a lot of dust while being used which also causes the computer to get very hot. When the computer sees the temperatures start to rise it will turn up the fan. So possibly taking it out of a confined space/cleaning the inside will help a lot. It's also a possibility that somethings wrong with the fan
That noise is usually caused by old, worn out, and dirty fans. thoroughly clean the fan or replace it with a new fan and the noise should go away.
