We built a nice website for a client in Thailand selling rapid blood testing kits and they then expanded that to include what are over the counter pharmaceutical items in Thailand, but which require prescriptions in some other countries.
We advised the client that using PayPal was risky and sure enough after three months of happily trading he got pinged and now is waiting for the mandatory six month period before PayPal will (might?) release his funds.
The site is WordPress based and uses the TheCartPress eCommerce plugin. The site is only four months old and sales were only around $1,000 a month but growing. The client ships all sales by international registered post which enables tracking and proof of delivery.
The client's business practice is to only sell genuine product sourced from legal suppliers, with the manufacturer of the goods clearly identified and inevitably one of the large pharma companies.
The client has captured his PayPal activity and that shows no chargebacks or disputes in the period the it was running, and a few refunds due to items not being available. Previously the client was only drawing down money from his account on the 10th of each month for sales up to the end of the month prior -- therefore keeping a positive cash balance in his account for sales made on the first 10 days of the month in the event of any chargebacks or claims.
Can anyone suggest a merchant service provider and gateway that might be suitable for this client? We've already been told by Instabill that the clients sales volume is not large enough for them, while Merchant Express only handles UK accounts. The client prices all of his items in US$ and requires payment to be collectable by either bank transfer or credit card in Thailand.
Thanks.
