How to get more traffic from yahoo or Bing?

I have a blog that gets 90% of its search engine traffic from Google alone. If Yahoo and Bing also show some love (if not the same as Google does) towards my blog, then its page views per day could increase 30-40% more. can any senior member please suggest some ideas about how to get more traffic from Yahoo/Bing? Thanks.

Read through their guidelines and see what they like opposed to what Google likes. There are slight differences.

Bing and yahoo focus on the structure of the website and gave very much importance while ranking them. The more SEO friendly your website, the more Bing/yahoo like them.
I will recommend you some good on page SEO friendly points that Bing/Yahoo analyzes for good ranking
    1. No HTML/CSS Errors
    2. No Broken Links or Images
    3. Avoid Keyword Stuffing
    4. Unique and Quality Content
    5. Addition of Social Media
    6. Image optimization
    A: Rename image to keyword
    B: Add alt tag
    C: Add title tag
D: use one image in anchor (if possible)
    7. XML sitemap.
    8. Internal linking strategy.

Thanks sarah997, but the points you mentioned are generally applicable to all the search engines.

If A visitor finds your site using google, then your stats will tell you that this user was delivered by Google.

It may not matter that much what you do. If the searcher uses Google to search. you cannot make Bing deliver the Search Result.

There are groups of people and certain Topics that get better use with Bing. There are also many early web users that have Stayed faithful to Yahoo. . (mostly you do not find these people on webmaster communities)

If more people use Google - Then google will deliver more traffic. You will likely have major problems getting your users to swap over to Bing.

Thanks Tubby for sharing your views. Though, the point is not how we make searchers use Bing and how searches made on Google be delivered by Bing, but how can our web pages get in Bing's SERPs whenever anyone searches using Bing search engine.Search done using any keyword on Google and Bing will show you results that will be 90-95% different from each other

have you submitted sitemap of your blog to bing webmasters tool , if not just submit it and it will help the bing crawlers to index your blog and then yahoo, bing both will deliver the traffic to your blog . also try to use alt attribute for each image as bing gives preference to the image optimization .

Web crawlers usually discover pages from links within the site and from other sites. Sitemaps supplement this data to allow crawlers that support Sitemaps to pick up all URLs in the Sitemap and learn about those URLs using the associated metadata. Using the Sitemap protocol does not guarantee that web pages are included in search engines, but provides hints for web crawlers to do a better job of crawling your site.

The only way you are going to improve your traffic from Yahoo! and Bing is to optimize according to the information provided in the second post here. Google is the main player right now, nothing you can do about that. All you can do is improve your rankings in Bing and Yahoo! for those that choose to use those search engines.
