Well i think that yahoo and Bing both are 2 new and effective techniques to bring traffic to any URL and are the best way to do SEO on any website. Well Yahoo has some reputation on internet and Bing is a new one but it is also very effective. In both of'em, i prefer Yahoo For SEo on my page.

Submit your website & XML Sitemap in Bing Webmaster tool, Now yahoo & bing use same webmaster tool i.e bing webmaster tool. Yahoo & Bing use almost same ranking algorithms to gives the ranking of website. See other blog site related to your theme who have well ranked in bing & yahoo and see what they doing, use same process, its definitely helps you.

Nope; alt is not to be used for "image optimization."

It is reserved for use by user agents where images are not displayed, such as text only browsers and readers for the visually impaired.

    For SEO purposes, use title.

Yahoo Search was launched MAR 1995, Google SEP 1997, and MSN Search, the original name for what is now Bing, in the 3rd quarter of 1998.

So, no, Google is not the oldest of the three.

Yahoo does not use Bing's WMT, as Yahoo is no longer doing its own indexing.

There is no Yahoo algorithm anymore; Yahoo gets its organic and PPC search results solely from Bing.

The salient fact is that Yahoo is no longer an independent SE, but derives both its organic and PPC results from Bing. That the Yahoo logo jointly appears with that of Bing in certain places is of no material relevance to that fact.

I think that although BING has had a big push to gain some popularity against Google, they still only command around 5- 8% of the search engine market. To get more traffic from BING and Yahoo remember the % for the time you put into your quest. I would personally let 'other' search engines choose how to rank your website and drive traffic and concentrate on the big one.

You are advising one put all their eggs in the Google basket?

Maybe Google hasn't done the same things to sites in Britian as it has to North American sites but there are a ton of North Americans that relied too much on Google traffic for the success of their business and have gotten burned lately.

I would have to say that the OP's original question
How to get more traffic from yahoo or Bing?
is a valid one. Both of these were King of Search at one time or another and go knocked out by the new kid on the block (Google). There is no guarantee that a new "new kid on the block" can't go the same to Google (or that Bing or Yahoo can regain their status as King of Search).
(ok maybe I'm aging myself but there was life b4 Google)

I am advising to consider the stats currently for seach engines and compare that to the effort made to increase traffic from these alternatives. Put in a lot of hours for a maximum 5-8% IF you get good ranking?

In England we have felt the Google pinch with businesses stung by updates and changes. I personally have dropped at least 50% of revenue due to these recent updates but that dosn't mean I will turn my back on the nations no1 search engine. I will embrace the changes, change my strategy and work with the beast.

    For the OP:
Concentrate on structure of the website to rank well in BING and Yahoo!
