Has the Social Media Giant Facebook started to fade away?

What would you prefer to have in the maximum priority to share your information on social media Google+ or Facebook. FMO, I already started to feel the difference between the interest I have now and before one and half year ago spending time in facebook.com. I'm spending more time on Google+. To have others opinion I just put you through this question that "From now on what would be the biggest social media after a couple of years?"

I think you are one of the rare ones if you actually spend time on Google+ for fun. Facebook is a daily thing for me, but I actually "use" the site naturally and it just feels right. Google+ has always been nothing more than a marketing place that people are obligated to use. Nobody really gathers there and hangs out as far as I know. I have had some conversations about seo and marketing with fellow bloggers and the opinion is always the same - it's Google, so it's a good idea to use them for the advantages they may provide in marketing and powerful links or traffic. Google does favor their own services after-all.

Not yet. A social media site is only as good as the people who are using it. Facebook still leads Google+ by a wide margin for now. Whom do you know personally or professionally that has a Google+ account? Also, how many potential customers have Google+ accounts? I personally have not had a real person invite me to his/her Google+ account yet, nor do I know anyone outside of work who has a Google+ account.

For Google+ to take off it needs more people using it for personal use, as well as their friends, their family members, celebrities, companies they care about, etc. Right now Facebook has that going for itself more than Google+ does. There are a lot of companies on Google+ but few real people. I think if Google merged some of their other services like Gmail and Google Play into Google+ that might get more people using it personally.

What will be the bigger social media after a few years? I still say between those two Facebook will be the leader. Again, Facebook has the personal stuff and the connectivity to people they know right now that Google+ does not have yet. I don't see Google+ catching up.

I think after couple of years facebook or twitter and other social networking sites will be biggest media because the number of social networking site user are keep increasing day by day.

Google + will win, because SEO as it exists today will disappear and Google+ will be where people & businesses have to be to be seen on Google. SEO will be about Google +.

Facebook's only chance is to get a decent internal search engine, whilst users have to keep 'popping out' of FB to Google to search for their shopping, dissertation research, looking up phone numbers etc FB is eventually doomed.

To be impartial, the poll needs two more options: 3) don't know/can't say; 4) don't care.

I recently removed everyone who is not family or a family friend or a neighbor from my facebook.
I created a separate account for all others (I do not use it, but I need it to remain polite)

I have never managed to log into google+ (I think I need to upgrade something)

    I ticked the first option.
I love facebook. I get photo's of my Sons on camping on the beach. I get photo's of puppies born. I get to leave a message saying I have a parcel to go to town. I know what My sisters Children are Doing in the UK. I get pictures of the recent Storm damage in the USA from Bob who is visiting his daughter in the USA. . . and someone knocks on my door "you got a parcel to go to town Mate?"

@ weegillis : I just got the feel after I read your thread. Some of the people I know personally working in the IT platform they have recently deleted their profile from the facebook community due to the privacy concern. Would have been better if I have added the other mentioned two.
