    Link Exchange still Worth it?

Does Link Exchange still an effective method in building one way link and improve your website's ranking after the latest Google Panda update..?

Your question, as it reads, it is a contradiction in terms. Link exchanges are usually referred to as "reciprocal": Site A links to site B. Site B links to site A.

If your question is more along the lines of "is reciprocal linking good for improving website ranking", in the most general terms, it should be used for the benefit of your site visitors - not for the Search Engines.

Exchanging links is one of the oldest methods that is still used today, despite being less efficient. This method can still be a good lever if properly used. Just contact their webmasters to offer this type of exchange, preferably the site is of good reputation and your theme. Don’t to too much link exchanging as even this technique requires more focus on quality partners rather than quantity.

Google clearly told that excessive reciprocal links or excessive link exchanging ("Link to me and I'll link to you.") will be treated as Link scheme.

@Sujan: A link might help shore up your point. If one quotes or references something 'clearly told,' then it behooves one to provide something of a citation.

    SERP: excessive reciprocal links (google.com)

Yes I'm totally agree with your reply but the question is how much link exchange should be considered as spam? well, as far as my experience 4to 5 can adjust. What you'll think?

I have the same question, regarding all the google panda updates will this still be important? And then, we just find out ways to improve and google has another update, I don't love that!

DMIB: the underlying thing most of us agree on is that reciprocal links are good when they are done for the right reason: if it is going to send you qualified traffic.

Specifically google has suggested not to make more use of reciprocal links or three way links for getting site results. But still if you want to make use of reciprocal linking method, then you need to choose such sites for link exchange that are authorized and most relevant to your site and that is with the unique content.

Usually sites that agree to give you a backlink are those sites with zero or close to zero traffic and similar page ranks. A link from them will not bring you any traffic and Google might consider it as a link from a bad neighborhood which could end up in a zero Page Rank for your blog.
