Smile New site design - comments very welcome - www.cbt4u.co.uk

    Hi,

I have been playing around with my site, www.cbt4u.co.uk ,after many good suggestions from a previous request, I have already posted in the ecommerce section for ecommerce bits, but please do not hold back.

Would just like some feedback about the look and general usability etc and anything else that springs to mind.

Comments Would be very much appreciated, Thanks
    Keith

Your overall designing is very much professional but I don't prefer the black/gray & white combination on your header & navigation portion. This is not matching with your BG color.

    Hi Sujan,

Have changed the background, to much work at present to alter the rest, I think it goes better than the blue.

Your site looks great except for the bottom section which, in my Chrome, looks nasty. You should have the "Go to top" as plain text aligned with the Copyright sign

    Hi Creatip,
have to agree sort of an afterthought down at the bottom, but have now tweaked the look, what do you think?

Go to Top is personal opinion, I am happy where it is at the moment as it works - its noticed!!!!!!

    Thanks

It's not bad -- and, yes, it works! -- and if you're happy with it just leave it like it is. Overall it looks professional. Best of luck!

If you have a minute tell me what you think about dicheetal.com. I'm mostly interested in the web version (new) looks that we recently decided upon.

Overall it is fairly polished but there are a few minor tweaks I would make:
    1) Contact Us on the top right Nav has a divider background that looks out of place.
    2) Some of your text placements just look a little off that same top menu looks like it should be a tiny bit higher, or a bit lower with that background transition, same thing with the Footer Nav that starts with Now Accepting Paypal (I'd raise it a bit, and add a bit more bottom padding / margin to #jsn-content).
    3) I'd probably change your dark blue 0s and 1s in the logo to a lighter blue with the dark background it makes your logo seem unbalanced.

    Hi,

Contact nav div line cannot be moved as it is there because more links could be added, I am not writing the CSS specifically for this menu, however I do understand what you mean

The menu could be moved, when the logo size changes so does the menu but I can look at the relative positioning, thanks, something to think about

The logo colour could be lighter but the logo is actually designed for a white or black background, I will tinker with the logo, thanks for the observation

    Regards

    few points.

You probably can't do much about this but you 1125px width means it doesn't sit comfortably on my 1024px notebook screen.

More importantly, in my opinion, your 'order now' call to action is a bit small but critically it is not a link, I expect to click on an 'order now'CTA to link to an order form.

Also, your navigation dropdowns slot behind the demo flash videos. I believe this is an inherent issue with flash in that it takes prominence and you can't solve it with z-index. You might be able to use iframes and z-index though, I can't recall. It may well be a limitation of your CBT to HAVE to use flash, but if you can use an HTML5 video player you'll have an easier time with that sort of issue.

Design wise, the site look fine, but I think the logo is a bit 'weak'.
