Will article submission be helpful after recent google changes?

I’m looking for article submission for my site which is mainly built for providing cad drafting services but I have some doubts whether the article submission will be helpful for me or not after the recent google changes. Can anyone guide me on this?

Article submission is always a good source of backlinks. But those should be high quality sites like Ezine.

As I've know, Article Directory submission is worthless after the latest Google update.. But, it is still effective if you are doing it right without over using it especially, if you have original content....

Do it right way and it will bring god traffic and also be helpful in rankings. GO black hat and you will end up making a mess of your website.

If your content has quality stuff so I think article submission give you quality backlinks, just follow the white hat seo techniques you will achieve targeted place on search engines.

How can it be both "worthless" and "effective?"

Article submission is one way of getting good backlinks... and backlinks are still 'what it's all about'.

a good number of our sites have suffered since Panda & Penguin and I believe it's due to having too many articles using similar anchor text over too long a period of time. eg. three articles a month for 12 months, all using similar anchor text, month in, month out and syndicated to 10 plus article sites each month = spam. It seemed like such a good idea at the time!

If I could go back in time and mix up the anchor text more, I would.

Article submission, I believe, will still be important... but it aint what you do it's the way that you do it!

edit.... What is a concern is where to syndicate articles to these days. Which are trusted? I used to favour Ezine but since they got hammered for low quality content last year... i'm not so sure any more. I also keep having to argue with their editors who seem to reject articles without reading them. The number of times i've had articles rejected for non existent spelling errors is amazing.

Well it's an interesting read... but when he says:
"Avoid any link building activity where the only reason you’re doing the activity is purely to build links for search engine rankings."

...it pretty much says all of us should avoid link building... it's not exactly a hobby is it!

If it sounds like a lot of hard work, then submit only to high PR article directories.

it doesn't matter how high the PR of the directory is, chances are the page your article ends up on will be PR zero, and will stay that way.
