Is it just me or does it not seem right for Google to make the Penguin update and then accept money from companies who are doing this kind of advertising?

Google search is a separate division from Google Awdords. They have very different goals and rules.

I think they would be more wrong if they didn't show the ad.

Well, maybe I'm the only one who finds it a little ironic/hypocritical.

If that was a reason to not like Google the made for adsense sites created that problem years ago.
