Question Why do I get this message every half an hour ???

This is my first post on this forum so I hope I've correctly attached an image I took as a screen grab. I'm using a Macbook with Safari and I get this message every half an hour. Putting in my password does nothing I just keep getting the password request message.

I'm not at all tech savvy so if anyone can help please keep in simple.

    Many thanks.

Yahoo! does that depending on where on their site you go. When you logged in did you tell it to remember you? Think it actually says remember me for 2 weeks.

If you are going from surfing around to changing your profile, it will also do this for security reasons.

Keep in mind they have to help protect the non savvy users that use public computers and forget to log out when done. e.g. checking their Yahoo! mail. Yes it is a pain when you are using your own computer but they don't know that.

    Makes sense I think.

I went and changed ''remember me for 2 weeks'' back to one day.
I'll see if that has any effect, I've had Yahoo for ten years or more and its only just in the past 6 months started doing this.

I'll write back if changing from 2 weeks to one day makes any difference.

No change, I still get the message, I know it must be something simple but I can't figure it out and I've asked everyone I know that uses Safari on a Macbook coupled with Yahoo and they've never had this issue.

It's beginning to drive me up the wall. Any further clues as to what I should do?

That doesn't help, in fact I still get the message EVEN if I sign out of Yahoo. I get this damned message every half hour. It's getting irritating to say the least. I'm going to give it a few more days then I'm going to cancel Yahoo.

I'm wondering if it'll come back even if I stop using Yahoo, I mean it pops up even when I'm signed out of Yahoo.

I had a friend reset the cookies for me as I didn't know how. The message is still popping up every half hour like I've got some sort of virus on my Mac.

I'm going to visit a friend today who might be able to help further.

    Thanks for the advice.
