What a nightmare I have had over the last couple of days. I think you were right, it was far worse than I thought. Somehow a malicious script was injected somewhere which then allowed malware. Yesterday, I noticed another three sites were affected. So I contacted my hosting company and they ran a scan and found malware everywhere including malicious PHP scripts. Anyway, they have cleaned everything for me and I have made sure all of my websites are completely up-to-date. The technical side reckons it was something to do with my htaccess file, not sure how. Anyway, as anyone got any good tips on stopping this from happening again, apart from keeping the websites always up-to-date?

I am a little bit worried about modules, plug-in & components, if they are out of date does that give hackers an easy way in?
