Rep score is useful. It is a powerful indication of whether a member is knowledgeable and makes readable posts. If I am trying to learn something new, I place most reliance on posts by members with a high rep.

Most people like to be liked and respected. Some of our members spend a lot of time sharing their knowledge. Giving them rep is a social reward; it shows that their efforts are appreciated, and encourages them to keep posting.

I was too late to edit my last post so this was not added:

    financial information kgun -kgun9 -KGUN9 -(Kgun 9) -kgun9.com

It is difficult to remove the noise from kgun9.

There is much to improve for search engines in their filters.

May be Bing and Google should be more concerned by improving their search filters than giving webmaster a link removal tool open for misuse and link manipulation.

Private copy and stored as WordPad document

clintsthread-2 (Time consuming. Now WPW also acts like a time thiev that has frustrated me on so many other unprofessional forums).

@Cold - I get that. What I don't get is people that look at their own and actually keep count.

@kgun - time thief? Because off topic or pointless posts are deleted? If it upsets you so much that a mod may delete one of your posts from time to time you could try posting less. I've been trying to decide if all your copied posts is funny or sad. The jury is still out.

I see one removal of my posts that I assume you did in this thread:

Any latest News on new Google Updates?

My post was the second answer and it went like this:

What is the information in this thread?
    1. It is good if it is a change in newcomer policy.
    2. But when a natual simple search is at the OPs fingertips, I expect better.
    3. Again, I applaud the softer policy on newcomers and have no problems with you deleting that post.

I've been trying to decide if all your copied posts is funny or sad.
I get a database of copied and deleted posts that can be semantically analysed for a pattern.

    The jury is still out.
    Now you frightened me.

    Private copy.

Cool, but isn't it hard to detect patterns if you have only data from your own posts? As a group I'd wager we delete more than 100 posts a day across the entire site made by users new and old. Yeah, I know, off topic - sorry.

But the armchair general (you gave me that title) you know is not so afraid of zeroing out his rep points if the same is done with a forum moderator or administrator.

I concur with Rah. Post deletion does not affect the accumulated rep, only the links out to the post that are in the member CP. Even if all of a member's posts were deleted, they would still retain their full earned reputation.
