I'm curious as to what is this "(Reputation Power: xx)" and how are we supposed to see how many points we have now?
I'm not seeing that. What page are you looking at when you see this?
Strange. First I noticed that the rep icon below my posts (as I see them, logged in) is gone. Apparently I, nor you for your posts(?), can no longer see the rep icon to hover it, in order to see the rep points. So then I went to my CP where the rep area is, and the points are gone. In its place, before the list of most recent posts to receive rep, is what I mentioned in my first post.
Now I think I see what's going on, but something is still different. I now see two areas:
"Latest Reputation Received (**** point(s) total)"
And:
"Latest Reputation Given (Reputation Power: xx)"
So I still don't know what this rep power is, and the rep icon you could once hover next to the "I Agree" icon and link is gone. It's there below your post, as I see it (don't know if you do), but it's not there below my own posts as I see them. So in order for me to see rep points, I have to go to my CP and check. Earlier I may not have scrolled enough, and only saw the "Latest Reputation Given (Reputation Power: xx)" so I thought that's all that was there now.
Ok, now I see what you are talking about. Rep power is how much influence you have when giving out rep points to people. New members have a power of 0 which means they can't bump your rep count up or down. The more posts you have and the longer you've been a member the more you are able to shift reputation positively or negatively.
Also, the rep count icon has been removed and you can only now see rep points and the like on profile pages. This was a change in the new update we did.
Ok, so just out of curiosity; what is considered low, med, high? What's the highest? Is there some kind of scale somewhere or breakdown of numerical values we can see? Otherwise is kind of non sequitur without it.
So who thought that would be good idea? That's not very user-friendly.Also, the rep count icon has been removed and you can only now see rep points and the like on profile pages. This was a change in the new update we did.
Thanks.
Low is anything under 5, mid is around 10 - 15, high is anything over 20. There really isn't a set limit, but you slow down on gaining once you hit 13. Currently deepsand has the most influence that's still active around here.
Not my call there. vBulletin did that.
Natural since he was on the top list of members before that system was taken down.
And when threads that he and I participat in like this:
It’s with a heavy heart that I say good-bye
That has now changed status to:
kgun, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
- Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
- If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.
I loose his rep points.
The same happened with this thread:
Can anyone please list some of the useful web2.0 sites in this thread?
where all my and MVP members post including Janeth, Deepsand and me were deleted. I see what is left. I got a warning that that thread is moderated. So now I wonder, what can happen to other old threads? Theoretically our rep points can go red.
Private copy since more and more of my posts are deleted and some seemingly random.

The thread about Janeth was removed, and it appears that your posts, as well as others, were removed from the second thread by one of the moderators. Neither of these have anything to do with the reputation system. No one can go Red anymore on the reputation system. That was recently changed to only be a reward only system with no negative side.
Never the less those Rep points that I got from deepsand and Janeth in the two treads are removed from the
Latest Reputation Received (5114 point(s) total)
list. I don't know whether the cound went down from 5116 to 5114 points, since I don't keep track of it.
Very good, and it has been on my wish list. I its great that new members that come here and post don't start by getting a red rep point in their face.No one can go Red anymore on the reputation system.
But theoretically if a removal of threads or posts that are given rep points bring down the count, you can be set back to square one? Or does a removal of a rep from the visible list of rep points don't bring down the total count by one point?
More precisely:
Were two of my rep points from two of the most authorative members not removed from the count even if they are no longer on the list?
