No, there is no special code for getting indexed.

There is no special coding required, but you may want to make sure your blog pings the appropriate sites whenever a blog post is posted. If you search Google for "ping list" then you will find several lists. You can add them to your blog in the admin section.

I would also make a few social bookmarks and links to your new blog posts, as well. New links to new content goes a long way nowadays.

To get a blog indexed create backlinks. I find ismysiteindexed.com gets sites indexed pretty quickly - type your url into it and then click on some of the links it gives you in Step 2. You create a lot of (low value) links that are quickly crawled by the search engines.

Now why would this idea be of less value than Steve's suggestion of link to it?

You do not have to do this to get indexed. I have a site indexed that is not registered with Google Webmaster Tools.

A link from an established site that gets crawled regularly also works.
