Seeing Stars! Google Reviews in Organic Listings | Local SEO

I don't want to hijack this thread on Google Reviews, so I am starting a new one.

I know some types of businesses are more likely to have stars and even reviews show up in their organic results listings -- restaurants and hotels, for example -- but other types of businesses also have them sometimes. For example, your "local SEO" listing seems to have that:

local-seo.jpg though as Linda says here, the stars come and go.

In any case, it would be great to discuss some of the ways to make this more likely. Are 'rich snippets' working for anyone outside of restaurants and hotels? Do others see this occasionally as Linda does for her site?

Does anyone "see stars" for real estate sites or for fishing captains -- two themes that are close to my clients hearts.

Yes, anywhere that we have a client in a space where a review on a specific page/service/product is possible we look for a way to add the review snippet code there. If not we try to direct viewers to google places to review them there.

And yes, I have seen starred reviews for fishing charters. Not all the time, but they do happen.

And people said we couldn't spam snippets

My hreview stars on my personal listing mj shared in the 1st post above, showed up the day after I added the review and ran it through Google's rich snippet tester. I was GOLDEN for about 3 months!

Then a month ago everyone that had stars below me in the SERPS lost them. Then a week later my stars started coming and going. And it's not just my listing, but iis happening for all the leading Local SEO pros I network with from all over the world.

All of our clients DOUBLE stars disappeared from local blended a month ago too. Was SUPER cool when we got the double stars to show and really made our clients stand out. (I blogged it and showed examples when it 1st happened.)

Since then organic stars have been off and on, not just my listing but others are reporting the problem as well. And I have not seen any more double star sets in local. I think G put the kabash on those because it was redundant due to the Places gold stars.

One of the guys in my group said replacing the hreview with a new one will sometimes bring the stars back. But I haven't tried it. My stars are up 80% of time it seems, so I'm not going to mess with it.

    Here is Google's explanation: http://support.google.com/webmasters...8474&ctx=topic

I pretty much did it the way they suggest.

If you want you can go to my home page below and view source where the testimonial is and just copy my code, since we know it works.
Then just replace with your business name, reviewer name and review.

Again here's how the final result looks in the SERPS.

That is when it works. Right now it happens to be working if you want to see it live.

Yes the Rich snippets are much helpful in user's attention drawing! Well Honestly,I haven't seen any real estate website bearing stars as a part of the rich snippet in Google SERP! But I have my own website bearing stars in SERP because of my schema implementation !
