Code posts losing linefeeds and newlines

I know there are not a lot of code posters, at present, but it might be due to the fact that few have the time or patience to have to edit dozens of lines of code that just lost all the line returns.

Here's the case... Start a thread, make it about coding something. Start the post with a comment, then create a vb PHP or HTML or CODE block and paste in twenty or more lines of PHP or HTML or CSS or JAVASCRIPT copied from a local editor. Now 'Preview'. See what I mean? All the frickin' linebreaks are gone!

This has cost me an accumulated several hours trying to post simple code solutions. If this is always going to be the case, then I have run out of time and can no longer help in situations where code has to be posted. I'm fed up.

I would simply place a link answer is here

until WPW sorted the problem out.

I might even link back. Of course I would make it prettier. probably with some navigation.

You're right, @Tubby. I work on a lot of 'projects' as I call them, on my own server then share the code on the boards. I could do as you suggest but then the copyright issue comes into question. If I post it here, I've given it (posted code) to the public domain. On my own site this is not the case.
