    Site loading other sites in a frame

    This site iracdyield[dot]com is loading other sites in a frame
    Code:
    <frameset rows="100%" border="0">

    <frame src="http://www.highest-cd-rates.org/" frameborder="0" />
    </frameset>
    It was originally loading ours. I didn't ask them to do this. I asked them to remove it and they just started loading another site. Why would they do this? I only noticed because we had received some Adsense clicks and the site was listed as the referring site in our analytics.

    Sorry if this isn't the best forum topic for this post.

    I realize some people would be happy with getting free traffic like that, but I'm not so sure they aren't up to something.

    Update: I noticed when searching that site in Google a whole bunch of spammy links. I wonder if they are using it as way to actually punish the sites they are loading in the frame

    Thoughts?

    Are they fetching some imp content from your site and displaying them it in their site using frames? You should check this first. check the site's authority and if its good then dont worry about them.

    They were just doing a redirect from a frame on their page. They have since moved on to another site since I sent them a request to stop redirecting to ours.

    Might be malware and a click fraud network. Not entirely sure. Basically they might be trying to intercept your clicks.

    I am not really into adsense, but what happens if you get dinged?

    I mean is the frame hosted within your domain, or is the frame hosted on a third party domain, and the activity you are seeing is happening at the proxy style website?

    Who knows? Maybe if it's not hosted at your domain, the proxy is instead attempting to mimick normal user behavior, and loading up random websites, on a desktop and clicking through stuff? I don't know... it's hard to visualize what you are describing.

    If you view the page in the link above you'll see what I'm talking about. It ends up redirecting to this URL:
    Code:
    http://iracdyield[dot]com/?mvp=97lkpjWs3FvtuFUNFi1kZoN0ACBUAQogcfmZtDgZaXb7oz9mRr77Uur9boTPwAZQL7OpSpBlpS6dkSv2NXjwoV3LTEOMOdQvizzihYg3mxUG9p_T4J10_jerU1zMVZjfKu_RWHmyX4QIV9yyf1jv7Qe71jHSG-TwKcQN2PWj-M8
    When you view the source it just looks like what I indicated above.

    My analytics shows that site as a referring site and the clicked adsense is earned by us.

    I realize the URL looks pretty nasty above. As far as I can tell no malware has been installed on my PC. But I don't blame anybody for being concerned. I just can't fathom why a company would redirect traffic like that. I don't want to be paranoid, but given the fact that the links to the Ira site are quite spammy, I wondered if they were trying to harm our site. The site is now re-directing to a different site so kind of a moot point to us, unless they direct something else our way.

    If you are worried about them doing it again (or someone else) you can include this code in the head section of your pages to break out of the frame:
    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
      if (parent.frames.length) top.location.href= document.location;
    -->
    </script>
    Forces the visitor to go to your actual page if the page is included in a frame.

    They could be doing it so as to have content on it until they one day launch a real site...it makes the site more alive and in some albeit strange situations, even linked to or associated with...

    I doubt it but in this case who knows but the owner? Did you ask him/her?

    I may add the code to the top of the page. Thanks HBT. :O)

    I sent them an email, but the site is under private registration so the messages go through them. The fact that they changed the redirection tells me they got the email. However, they did not bother to respond.

    Thanks for taking a look. :O)

    as it is inside an iframe I would generally say that being a remote site, I doubt any harm can be done to your site from this practice. At most you got some free traffic. But as HTML Tutor said above, if you are at all worried about it, just break the frame and they will be forced to your real site out of the iframe.

    I wish that were true William. We just started seeing this in WMT just a couple days ago. In the links to your site area you will start to see links through intermediate sites.

    Site A links to Site B. Site B is an iFrame with your scraped page. We've been going through and blocking them from scraping the site. In our case it was lazy affiliates being too lazy to actually build their own sites. Bad juju in the Penguin Age because of the really crappy way the links look to Google.
