    My High Search Ranking...What Happened...???

    hello again...

six months ago...if I opened any search engine & typed in 'recording studio, new jersey'...my business was very near the top of the list.
if I typed in 'recording studio, trenton'...I was at the very top of the list.

now...I'm not even on the list...anybody's list...!!!

wonder what could have happened, 'cause the phone has stopped ringing.

    thanx,

According to me might be your competitors doing good work than you. First of all check how your competitor are doing work, which site they are using for getting incoming links. And than you are doing work in ethical way. If you are working more and more linking( through article submission, blog posting and also forum posting ) to increase very fast ranking. Does quality work for the reason that nowadays search engine has been truly very strict to terms and conditions. Follow Google webmaster guidelines for your websites.

Moonmix, I'm sorry to say this, but it could be that to Google your site looks spammy. There is very little content and way too many external links on your homepage. And those links are dofollow and may look like paid links to Google.

well...I obviously disagree that my site lacks content...what else do you need to know about my business besides what is there...& the relative navigation links on the left...which is...everything I do, for cripes sake.

but aside from that...u are referring to those links at the bottom, correct...??? those are links to audio mfg.'s sites, to specific pages showing some of the best gear that I use.

so...should I put them on a different page than my home page...???...(or...get rid of them altogether...???)

    thanx,

    MoonMix

    ah...

the heck with it...I took 'em all off (save for Discmakers)...which is a professional affiliation. u guys are the experts...if u tell me multiple home page links look spammy...then so be it...i'll go w/ ur advice

I really doubt the outbound links had anything to do with your ranking drop. Nobody really knows how G's algo spots paid links, but if the links are relevant, they should be fine. If you're worried you could nofollow them.

I couldn't find any, but do you have any over optimized anchor texts?

Apart from that, I don't know. It's really funny you disappeared from all the search engines. Maybe Panda got you because you have very little content on the home page. Is any of the info on your inner pages copied from another site?

But if it was Panda, you'd have seen the drop long ago. Huh...weird.

It couldn't hurt to file a reconsideration request with Google also.

I would say part of your problem is you only have 15 links pointing at your site.

BTW, an in-depth analysis of your site would likely cost you hundreds of dollars. What you get here is folks desiring to help people who are having problems with no recompense. That doesn't mean the comments are worthless. You'll have to judge for yourself by their effect if you choose to utilize them.

never mind...know what that is...a link w/ a label. but how are they optimized?

also: what do you mean by links pointing at my site...do u mean external links, at other sites pointing to my site?
