Search Engine Down Significantly After Domain Switch

I recently changed my domain name from android-invasion.net to theandroidinvasion.com. android-invasion.net is still active and redirects to the new domain. After being fine for several days, traffic from search engines are down significantly (from about 500 views to 50).

I am not all that familiar with SEO. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Did you redirect from the old site to the new via 301? If not, you must do that right away. Search the forum for 301 redirects and you will find lots of resources.

Yes, the redirection was via 301.

I wouldn't think so....content is unique and frequent, no spam linking.

I have noticed a lot of odd trackbacks recently, not sure if that is related or not though.

Duh. Be right back when I get this blonde out of my hair ... brain.

Very little in the way of incoming links, as far as I can see ... 19 links from 11 domains ... but that would not relate to traffic. It is not unusual to have a blip when you change domains, and it may well have to do with how long it took Google to index the site under the new domain. You do have a large internal link structure. Are you sure your 301s were done correctly - old page to new page, not old page to new home page? Has your position changed in the SERPs? You do need to get those links changed where you can to point to the new domain.

It seems logical to me that you would have a blip like this .... give it a few days to let Google digest the new domain.

Yep, the old pages redirect to the new ones, not the homepage. I did notice that when you search Android Invasion, we are now second, where as we use to be first.

I think you have to consider this part of the stumbling when you change domains ... give it a few days or so to let it settle, and build quality links.
