I am really in dire need of getting inputs as far as my logo is concerned.

I think is is a bit of a 'Block'
I cannot imagine it being able to fit comfortably in the many places a logo might appear. (other than a black page)

The illustration is very good between the "miami" & "cupcake". Otherwise this is very ordinary.
It seems to me the letters in the word "cupcake" are tighter than the ones in "miami." I would rectify this and make them the same width.
For a website this logo is OK. It's also a pretty good logo if it were on the sign outside your shop. I don't see you being able to use this for shirts, letterheads or business cards though. I also don't think it'd look as good if you inverted the white and the black. It's a good logo, but just not for multiple uses.
I love the cupcake, but I agree with everyone about the lettering. To me the lettering looks like you were trying to convey a more upscale cupcake establishment or if they are some sort of sequins. It may not be the look you were going for but maybe you could make the lettering look like colorful sprinkles. Doing so would allow it to be more widely used. but it may also take the logo in a direction you dont want to go. Again the cupcake looks really good.
I would personally also change the text. I would like to see a more "swirly" text. So, something which fits the theme of the cupcake. In other words, curves, not dots/sharp edges.
I like your cupcake - one possibility would be to incorporate it instead of the u in "cupcakes" or as part of the first i in Miami.
I also agree with other posters that the font could be different - maybe more swirly or maybe even looking as if its made of sugar strands or other cake toppings etc.
I like the colors and the cupcake but the lettering is hard to read.
