    Which there is barely a possibility of denying, even if you had said nothing, to begin with. The past wells up quickly into these situations. "Well you might have said it," is the least we can expect in a retort. Just try walking away unscathed! Best go off and fix something, quick. That squeaky screen door, maybe, or the leaky window in the south bedroom.

    A passive response, such as feigning deafness and blindness, is oft times the best possible option; even if that fails, the consequences cannot be worse than that of an active one.
