Yay! Google is finally going to push those pesky organic results way below the fold!

Saw this first thing this morning

Google can no longer be considered a search engine, they have entered the realm of full on portal as far as I am concerned.

They already are favoring the corporate sites over private sites, you can't search for a product and not get overwhelmed with sams club, amazon, wal-mart, target et all alls elling the same cheap vanilla products.

Sites with much more content and better product range is buried below the corporate weenies

    How?

The only way they could do that is if they did it by hand?

There is in all of retail probably no more than 100 - 200 or corporate retailers, adding a bonus to those sites would not be hard, just one more table.

I don't know for certain but I believe they are putting way too much emphasis upon the sites age, and link popularity. Mega sites will always have more links as do government sites. I'm totally convinced now that links are the #1 factor in their results.

As an example: A friend of ours, a 20 year Alaska salmon fishing guide, was over giving me h$ll yesterday for talking him out of this massive link building program being used on sites like his. Where he has about disappeared, all these sites are dominating the serps. I have assured him for years backing up my words with youtube videos and Google Plus posts from Matt Cutts about content verses link farming. Well, link farming has won. Do to any of the top page sites and type in (resources.sitedomain.com) and look at the tens of thousands of links. One company is responsible for doing this over the past many years and boy does it work. one fishing guide gathered some 80,000 links in two years at a cost of $1200.00 per month. We know this guy and he openly brags about it in person and on the web.

A current search for credit card now shows no organic listings above the fold.

Below three AdWords listings, one of which is expanded, is a new "Sponsored" box, with an explanation that reads
Based on your search query, we think you are trying to find a credit card. Clicking in this box will show you credit card providers that can fulfill your request. Google may be compensated by some of these providers.
The ad within that box links to www.google.com/advisor/uscredit.

I still see one organic result for 'credit card.' And I might see one more if there weren't personalized results at the top.

I've got no personalized results. And, I notice that you've but two AdWords listings .

Even so, a single organic listing above the fold is nothing to write home about.
