    Trouble getting Google indexed

I manage a few websites and have had no problem getting Google to index quite quickly (1-4 days) but this latest time of submitting a website via webmaster tools inc sitemaps; it is taking forever! It has been 2 weeks now and I am still yet to see my new website in the search results. I have done some research as to why this could be but wondered if the experts here knew of some reasons why?

    Thank you for your help.

Well, before anyone can comment on your issue, I'd suggest posting your "research" first. That would be helpful.

I have check for canonicalization issues, making sure that http is submitted and not just www's which may be considered a problem. I have also checked that my robots.txt is not blocking anything it shouldn't. I have also checked that the addon domain is configured correctly. I have also set up links to simliar themed PR 2-6 sites.

More than that I just don't know.

Going wide... With the new update being rolled in, might it be that Google's attention at the moment is directed elsewhere? Could they be delaying indexing of new sites until things gel a little more?

Question: Did they verify the site in question when you added it to your site list? Have they indicated that your sitemap was downloaded and verified? If the answer to these two questions is, yes, then all you can do is wait, and go about your business. Farmer's plant seeds, in hopes that they will have a crop. There is no guarantee. Consider this parallel.

The website in question was verified and 4 different sitemaps were downloaded and accepted.

What update for Google are you talking about?

Maybe I should plant some seeds instead...

The update? It's been the talk of the web for the past week or more. Been away?

No. I've been busy making a website that didn't get indexed I didn't have time to keep my eye on Google's antics

    Aren't the two connected, somehow?

Yes. But the farmer has to sleep once planting his crops or he will not be able to harvest.

Not sure I follow this statement. Are you saying that you have a mod_rewrite conditional directive in place to direct all non-www to www?
