Joomla 17 Megabytes? Wordpress 4 Megabytes? What's So Good About Joomla?

I hated Joomla when I first tried working with it a few years ago. I felt it was too clunky and too complicated - maybe things have changed since then.

So very recently a client has asked me if I can do some work on a Joomla site for her. I said of course and as I write this, the Joomla files are uploading to one of my sites - and it's huge.

Why? What's so good about Joomla? Is it packed full of amazing features that Wordpress just couldn't touch? I'll find out in a minute but I highly doubt it. And if this Joomla gives me the same problems as last time, I just may go postal.

I'll let you know how this install and setup goes, and how simple or not Joomla is compared to Wordpress, as the day progresses.

Well what do ya know? No zippy!

I've uploaded the whole folder, and went to my site to start the install (take note I haven't read the instructions because I really believe I shouldn't have to if Joomla is to compare with Wordpress)...now what?

Oh, I guess I have to reach the Joomla forums or read the instructions - must be difficult...I'll get back to you...
