Google Analytic to track your website's speed!!!!!

Hey friends....hope you all are having a gr8 day!

Another interesting piece of information that I wish to share with you all and that is about checking the performance of your website with respect to the loading speed. Before you jump to any conclusions, let me tell you that this is a new addition to the already existing tool of 'Google Analytics' using which, you will be able to collect site speed reports with respect to user timings.

You can analyze the loading time of your web pages or images on the website with user timings using 'Google Analytics', which offers speed reports. These generated reports can help you keep track of aspects like execution speed, user interaction or load speed, image loading time, time taken for a site to respond to a button click or AJAX action timings of the website with respect to the user time. This platform is said to be a perfect performance tracker as it does not affect the page view count of a website.

You can track your website performance in the 'User timings reports' present in the 'Content' section of Google analytic. Under the user timings section you can review reports in different sections like Explorer, Performance, & Map Overlay, which present reports in different matrices. However, to enable this feature a web developer will have to include the new Javascript timing code using 'track timing API'.

Hope this proves to be of great help to you all. Suggestions and feedback is always welcome...waiting for your replies...

    Cheers

To clarify, the only thing new here is the addition of User Timings.

Google announced today that it has added a new site speed report to Google Analytics, called User Timings. The report lets users track custom timings, and shows the execution speed or load time of any hit, event or user interaction.
