Oh! They termed this update as Penguin update? Is it a relative to Panda?
Does anyone think Google will sort out the things submitted through feedback form?
If that is so, there might be many such forms supplied by Google in its earlier updates?

They are related in that they are both updates from Google but they are different in terms of their aims.
I don't know whether the feedback forms will make any difference, but if you feel your site has been unfairly hit (or if it was hit fairly but you have since put things right) there is the option to submit it for reconsideration through GWT.
I've filled out the form myself. On page just got obliterated. Providing a reinclusion request form for reversing effects from a specific update is a Google first. This means they too agree that innocent sites got hammered in this update.
Why Google doesn't implement all changes at once and leave all webmasters to their fate. It would be better than getting penalized in small dosages.
There "should" be another way, but there isn't. When people want to buy something, what do they do? People do not use link farms/link exchanges; people do not use 'yellow pages'; people do not use 'directories', etc., etc.; when people search online to buy something, they use search engines. There is no way around that fact. And unfortunately, which SE do they use the overwhelming majority of the time? You got it. They control a HUGE part of the economy to suit their own agenda.
Of course it is! It's far beyond "frustrating", it should be criminal. Or at the very least, liable. I've been dealing with their irresponsible damaging BS for ~15 years.

And just how is that possible?? It's not. Their algo's always have been and always will be flawed, and damaging to the innocent. No matter how much the "webmaster experts" know, and think they know, will not immunize one against flawed algo's that throw the baby out with the bathwater. The only useful knowledge, is knowledge and secrets privy only to G's "inner circle of evil". Even G's employees' websites get harmed, yet at least they "have an ear" and can get it immediately fixed!Originally Posted by hostplate
Bingo! It's almost like having a store along a major traffic corridor, and then the city reroutes the traffic to a new freeway. People use search to find things and their engine of choice is Google. To tell someone they shouldn't rely so much on Google, while is good advice, is also impractical. There is nothing else that even comes close. I don't think anyone wants or even tries to rely on Google so much, it's just they dominate the field.
I'd have to say that these recent algorithmic updates are providing terrible search results almost across the board. What I'm seeing, especially in technical searches, are completely irrelevant results to my query. Broad target is a decent match, but I'm not getting the refined results that I used to get.
What I find interesting is all this talk of cutting down on the on page and anchor text keyword usage. So if we don't prominently use keywords Google is supposed to semantically divine what the topics of our sites and pages are?
Some of my sites survived the latest update and a few got hammered. But when I look at what is now in the top 10 - from out of nowhere - these sites have very little page or domain authority and little or no original content. This is especially true with real estate sites. Wasn't original content supposed to be a major factor in this update? I see sites with canned and duplicate content ranking well.
I was thinking that social media was a major factor in this last update, but the more I look I see sites with no social media connections ranking well for competitive keywords.
I agree with one of teh previous posts - if Google is actively reaching out for feedback on this update they're not quite sure if they got it right this time.
