Question Has G done something different with their image search in the past few days or so?

Hi all, has anyone heard if G has done something different with their image search in the past few days or so? I can search for images, see the image result page, but when I click on an image I get a blank page! Something is being blocked on my end, but I have no idea what. Nothing has been updated nor changed in the past week that could block anything, and when I disable my firewall it has no effect. And, it's only happening in IE, not in FF or Chrome.

    Thanks.

Here's what really doesn't make any sense at all, compare the two prefix URL's for G's web search results, and image search results. When you click a result link, you see this:

    Web: http://www.google.com/url?q=
    Image: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=

That, is the only difference. So how could the web search redirect tracking URL work just fine, but the image search URL does not?????

I have noticed anything. Google is doing Penguin update but that is only for text version of the search. May be G is doing update in image search algorithm also.

Everything looks fine from this end. Nothing different than I can see.

They obviously have done "something different" but what that is, is anyone's guess:
I've had "http://www.google.com" in my Restricted Sites Zone for years (to keep their tracking Cookies off my PC), and that had no effect on logging into Gmail, or WMT (because those used https). The only way now to get the image search to work was to remove that entry from the Restricted Sites zone! So now their frickin' Cookies are stuck on my HD the entire browsing session.

I'd really like to know what they did differently so I can fix it.

It looks like some of the underlying Ajax code has been updated to speed things up.

And just how might that result in a "blank" image?
