Question The US president election 2012

So finally, in practice Mitt Romney is the republican president canditate for the 2012 election. He participated in the republican race in 2012 but lost for John McCain. Now after watching a Tv programme about his vice presidnet candidate Sarah Palin: http://www.channel4.com/programmes/s...you-betcha/4od

Nick Broomfield heads to Alaska to find the real Sarah Palin and meet the friends, family and colleagues that gave their heart, soul and belief to the charismatic, charming, intoxicating ex-hockey mum
I think the world should be very glad that Obama won. I have the following two questions:
    1. Will Mitt Romney have a chance against Obama, even with tons of money backing him?
    2. Will Mitt Romney have a better judgement in choosing a vice president candidate than McCain?

Here Republikanske motkandidater til Obama, 2012? Hvem? is a Norwegian monster thread about the 2012 election. You should be able to follow that thread if you use a translation service. Note that diskusjon.no are dominated by members with a liberal or right wing political view, so IMO it is not a representative thread for the meaning of the average Norwegian. Social democrates like me are nearly absent from that froum.

No interest for this subject by this election? There was huge interest for the 2008 US president election.

I don't think that Mitt Romney will get more votes than Obama. Obama is still strong.

    I am very unsure.

The last monthly job creation reports have not been good for Obama. The trend is pointing down, but the net creation is still positive. Very many human beings have a short memory and don't remember that more that hundred thousand jobs were lost each month in the last years of the last republican president's periode.

The tea party, the health care reform, don't setimate the negative impacts it can have on Obama's reelection possibilities.

maybe nobody is commenting because you are asking about Obama and Obama lite. Those 2 are one in the same. Obama strong? Hardly.

So do you personally prefer Obama or Obama lite?

I see a big difference regarding the health care reform though, even if what Romney did in Massachusetts will be used against him.

An important day today for Obama.

A priori it is an even race as it looks now.

Even if the economy is very important demographics may be even more important in the final race.

In a tactless gaffe, Mr Romney managed to alienate the affections of the UK, one of the most pro-USA countries you could ever hope for.

The Presidential race seems a foregone conclusion. Americans always re-elect the incumbent, unless there is a very compelling reason not to. Mr Romney does not seem very compelling.
